Vega is not only on the lookout for help and ideas, but also aims to encourage others to make their own programmes. There are a number of ways that individuals or organisations can get involved in the Trust's work. If you have an idea or proposal you would like to discuss, we would be happy to hear from you.
Programme Ideas
The Trust is currently developing several productions and it is unlikely that we will be starting any new projects in the coming year. However we are always keen to discuss new concepts and even if we cannot develop them ourselves we would try to catalyse innovative new projects. The Trust cannot run more than one or two projects at a time but we are able to act as consultants, whether you are a media group looking for science projects/people, or a scientist with an idea you are keen to see recorded. We are always willing to share our experiences in scientific programme production and will try to point you in the right direction.
New Speakers/Presenters
Do you know a scientist that Vega should be recording, as a programme presenter, an eminent scientist who should be recorded for historical archive purposes, or someone who has a fascinating scientific story to tell? Are you such a person? Let us know!
New Collaborations/Partners
We are particularly keen to develop and foster new collaborations with like-minded organisations worldwide. Vega US is now active, and we have collaborative partners at universities and other institutions in Japan and Mexico. India, Taiwan and Italy amongst others are future possible links. If you feel that there are areas of overlap between your work and ours where we could benefit from collaboration, we would like to hear from you. Equally if you would be interested in initiating similar projects where you are based, please get in touch. We are interested in joining EU collaborative partner projects.
Programme Funding
We are keen to increase our programme output but as always the limiting factor is funding. If you or your organisation might be interested in funding some of Vega's work, please contact us. The Trust operates on a charitable not-for-profit basis and all funding goes directly into new projects and productions.
Schools Outreach Partners
If you are a school which would be interested in working with Jon Hare's Creative Science Centre or Harry Kroto as a partner in the Schools Outreach programme, please let us know. This would involve online workshops and ongoing projects covering a variety of topics including physics, chemistry, electronics and maths.
